About us: Instituto NOW is a Brazil-based social enterprise that supports impact-driven organisations in their development and learning. We are a female / non-binary and quite queer company that seeks to foster a work enviroment that we can be proud of.

Our work brings us to organisations across different continents that focus on climate justice, bodily autonomy, intercultural education and circular economy, among other topics. Some of the services we offer them are: production of educational content, design of learning journeys and facilitation of group processes.

About the position: For our work of creating educational content (handbooks, video, podcast, toolboxes, etc.) we are looking for a person to support us in script writing, educational storytelling, copyediting, etc. on a project-basis starting in October 2021.

Responsibilities: As our storyteller you will write, edit and/or review scripts for videos and podcasts, as well as help us write and/or review handbooks and other resources for our clients. Part of the job is about being able to grasp someone’s language and write in an engaging and easily understandable way. We often write and create content linked to inclusion and diversity, social impact, 21st century competencies, intercultural learning, among other topics.

Profile: We are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in writing (ideally script writing or educational editing) and being passionate about telling compelling stories;
  • Proficiency in English (understanding, speaking and writing, including grammar);
  • Basic understanding Portuguese or Spanish is a plus;
  • Someone who has worked with different types of media before (video, audio);
  • Attention to detail and ability to review and improve other people’s writing;
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality and beautiful products and content;
  • Experience in self-management and working remotely;
  • Commitment to diversity and equity and to bring these values to your work.

Hours and location: 

  • We are looking for someone to work part time (approx. 20 hours/week);
  • The work happens remotely and online with the possibility of in-person team meetings every 6-12 months, depending on availability and the geographical location of team members.
